SCENT WORK I
$120 - 6 week class

This class is to introduce dogs to scent work. Dogs will be taught to look for scents by pairing scents with treats. Dogs will work mostly with boxes, and then with other containers. Handlers will be learning how their dog alerts. Only one dog/handler team at a time will be working while the rest of the class watches and learns. This foundation class will pertain to all venues.

Students must bring their own crates, high value treats like liverwurst, hot dogs, etc., long line or flexi or at least a six-foot leash. Dogs must be on a buckle collar, harness, or martingale.


SCENT WORK 2
$120 - 6 week class

This class is a continuation of the Introduction to Scent Work class and is open only to continuing students or with permission of instructor.

In this class, dogs will be taught to look for scent in various places. Weather permitting, some searches may be outside. New scents and challenges will be introduced. Dogs should become more confident in finding scent, and handlers should become better at reading their dogs.


NOTE: If your dog tries to bite or has bitten a person, or lunges/snaps at other dogs, or you are not physically capable of controlling your dog, then a group class is not a suitable environment. It is best to consult with an animal behaviorist.


We are really enjoying our Scentwork classes. Camille and I went to Toledo for the trial the first weekend of August. She finished her Novice Interiors title needs one more leg for her Advanced Containers title. Three first places, a third and a fourth. We are looking forward to continuing her training.

SCENT WORK 1 (Introduction to Scent Work)
We are not currently offering an Intro to Scent Work. We do maintain a waiting list. Please contact Barb Popyk to be added to this list: bpopyk@comcast.net

SCENT WORK CLASSES: Non-members must bring in their Personal Crate or crate in vehicles. If members are using home crates, please wipe them down before leaving. Please practice social distance while working dogs indoors & outdoors.
Current students are requested not to switch classes or switch dogs without Instructor’s permission. Classes are for current students only or by Instructor's Permission.
