NOVICE COMPETITION
6 week punch card/$90 (good for 10 weeks) can be purchased on line
or $20 walk-in fee paid at class sessions.


Novice competition dog training class is for dog and handler teams who want to prepare to show in Beginner Novice, Novice, or Rally at dog shows or who simply want to have a more obedient and willing companion.

In this dog training class, handlers will work on the exercises and skills needed by the dog and handler in Novice classes. The student will also be introduced to jumping and dumbbell work which is a prerequisite for the Open Class.

This class teaches the dog to heel with attention, to halt with prompt sits, to come promptly, fast, and straight on the recall, to execute a great figure 8, to sit/down stay reliably, and to stand for exam.

In addition, teams will be introduced to jumping and dumbbell work which is a prerequiste for Open Class.

Instructors will discuss show ring rules, handling skills, and proofing exercises.

REQUIREMENTS Teams must have had at least two basic obedience classes (Beginner, CGC) or permission of instructor, and assumes the dog is under control and attentive.

NOTE: If your dog tries to bite or has bitten a person, or lunges/snaps at other dogs, or you are not physically capable of controlling your dog, then a group class is not a suitable environment. It is best to consult with an animal behaviorist.
