AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY CLASS

7 weeks/$125

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy dog training class is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. In Puppy S.T.A.R. you will learn how to teach your dog name attention, sit, down, stay, leave it, settle for exam, and coming when called.

In the last week of this seven week class, your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Upon passing the test, you'll get an application to send to AKC® for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and receive the AKC S.T.A.R PUPPY MEDAL. (Click for the AKC brochure.)

All dogs, purebreds and mixed breeds, are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Training Program. Handlers must be at least 12 years old.

JUNIOR STARS - For Puppies 10 weeks to 5 months old. (Also appropriate for very small breed puppies who may be a little older.)

SENIOR STARS - For Puppies over 5 months and up to 10 months old.

Puppies will also have the opportunity to explore the puppy-sized Agility obstacles. The equipment helps build confidence and self-esteem and exposes puppies to new things and experiences.

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN CLASS

6 weeks/$115
For dogs 10 weeks to 5 months


This puppy training class encourages social skills with other puppies and with people and teaches basic manners (sit, down, come when called). Instructors discuss housebreaking, crate training, grooming and behavior problems. Puppies get to negotiate puppy-sized agility obstacles. The equipment helps build confidence and self-esteem and exposes puppies to new things and experiences. In this dog training class, puppies should wear a plain collar unless otherwise advised by instructor. Handlers must be at least 12 years old.
