This class encourages social skills with other puppies and with people, teaching basic manners (sit, down, come when called). Instructors discuss housebreaking, crate training, grooming and behavior problems. Puppies get to negotiate puppy-sized agility obstacles. Puppies should wear a plain collar unless otherwise advised by instructor. Handlers must be at least 12 years old.
*PUPPY STAR
(for dogs, ten weeks to five months old)
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. At the end of the 6 week class your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Upon passing the test, you'll get an application to send to AKCŪ for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and receive the AKC S.T.A.R PUPPY MEDAL. All dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds. Handlers must be at least 12 years old.
$90/six weeks
($20 discount for repeating students if
the dog is still too young to advance to Beginner.)
NOTE: If you have a dog that is aggressive around other dogs or people, please speak with the Training Director or Training Secretary before enrolling.
